Natural Resources Council of Maine is Hiring a Temporary associate Near Augusta, ME

Job Summary :

The Natural Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) is dedicated to protecting Maine’s natural resources, promoting sustainable practices, and supporting Maine’s communities.

We are seeking a temporary, part-time Gift Entry Associate from July 2024-November 2024. This position provides leave coverage in the late summer and early fall for the Gifts, Records, and Stewardship Coordinator.

The Associate will process and enter constituent gifts into the Raiser’s Edge constituent management database; prepare donor receipts;

and reconcile daily gift reports with the finance department.

This role primarily requires working independently under the instruction and guidance of the Supervisor. This is an in-office position based in NRCM’s Augusta office.

A consistent workspace, desktop computer, and phone will be available for in-office use; equipment will not be provided for remote use.

Training on NRCM-specific protocols will be provided. The preferred schedule is 20-25 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday, and / or Thursday.

Separately, the department will also be seeking coverage for end of year gift processing for 12-15 hours per week from November January.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to extend into this more focused role should both parties mutually agree.

Status : Temporary, Part-time Employment, non-exempt

Compensation : $25 per hour

Qualifications :

  • Strong proficiency in computer and constituent software required. Raiser’s Edge or Every Action experience preferred. Comfort working at the field level of database software and with advanced features of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Familiarity with financial data entry procedures and data governance rules. Fundraising environment preferred, but experience in accounting, health care, or library environments may be applicable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and reliability required.
  • Ability to work equally well independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with database transitions preferred.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Enters, updates, and maintains all gift and membership information. Follows established protocols to ensure an extraordinary level of accuracy throughout all components of constituent records.
  • Maintains Partners in Maine’s Future monthly gift process, including notification of declined payment methods.
  • Enters and reconciles cash-equivalent and non-cash gifts including gifts of securities, IRA distributions, and gifts in kind.
  • Produces and reconciles daily gift receipt reports for finance department.
  • Prepares gift receipts / acknowledgement letters for all gift levels. Coordinates with other Philanthropy department staff to facilitate the review and personalization of letters prior to sending.
  • Alerts staff as appropriate to gifts or member correspondence which requires special handling; ensuring timely resolution.
