Native American Connections is Hiring a Clinician Outpatient Near Phoenix, AZ

Schedule - Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and/or Clinical Supervisor -Outpatient. This position is responsible for the management and delivery of direct client counseling services to assigned individuals and groups participating in Native American Connections residential program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide substance use counseling to individuals/groups in the areas outlined in the program description and structure of content.
  • Reviews assessments and provides referral services as necessary
  • Document / monitor the documentation of all services provided through client records and data (i.e., demographic data, treatment plans, psychosocial history, progress notes, transition planning, discharge summary, crisis plans, ASAM, ART, etc.
  • Oversees and assists each assigned client with individualized service planning and reviews.
  • Provide culturally sensitive therapy modalities through existing services, outside referral services, or the development of new services.
  • Assist in clinical transition planning and/ or referring clients to / or providing alternative services.
  • Maintain productivity standards and meets documentation deadlines
  • Provides reports / other utilization management documents
  • Maintains coordination of care with referral and/or stakeholders involved in client’s treatment as to progress in treatment.
  • Provides family counseling on substance use issues within the family and collaborates in facilitation of Circle of Strength at least one time per year.
  • Actively Supervise Interns as needed under the oversight of the Clinical Supervisor and/or Director of Clinical Services.
  • Supports and actively engages in practices of inclusion through Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health field, OR
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree with an AZ Board of Behavioral Health License, preferred.
  • Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family therapist, Social Worker or other license as appropriate are preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s Patient Placement Criteria.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in working with the Native American population preferred
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem- solving and organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team approach.
  • Requires strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • Required strong clinical skills
  • Possess a background in the delivery of individual/group/family counseling services, with a chemical dependency population.
  • Fingerprint Certificate required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Able to sit, stand walk with/ without accommodations.
