Job Title: Program Director - TFC 

Reporting Relationship: National Director of La Jornada 

Position Summary 

The Program Director is responsible for the overall management of the programmatic, administrative, financial, and operational systems related to the provision of foster care, case management, and clinical services; provision of regular and timely reports regarding programming, administration, finances, and operations; establishing a respectful and supportive workplace environment; elevating any issues or concerns. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies. 

  • Establish a respectful and supportive workplace environment that cares for people, connects communities, and promotes peace. 

  • Responsible for successful management of the assigned transitional foster care program’s programming, administration, finances and operations.

  • Manage the case management and clinical services for the foster youth including maintaining productivity standards.

  • Facilitate licensing, training, and retaining quality foster homes, ensuring licensed homes meet or exceed community and organizational needs and cultivate positive relationships. 

  • Maintain and deliver regular and timely reports regarding programming, administration, finances, and operations.

  • Be aware of all issues and concerns and elevate appropriately.

  • Make public appearances and presentations as requested.

  • Work collaboratively with other NYAP programs and staff throughout the organization. 

  • Maintain ongoing contact with partner agency through personal visits, phone calls, and written communication to assure positive relationships and customer service needs are met. 

  • Direct continuous quality improvement efforts to assure that service quality and reporting meets contract requirements. 

  • Perform other duties as requested. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree preferred. Alternatively, bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience in child welfare administration, child protective services. 

  • Two (2) years of experience in program management or as director of a licensed child care program. 

  • Possess the administrator’s license for the care provider’s facility. 

  • Bilingual English/Spanish Fluency strongly preferred. 

  • Able to pass a criminal background check.

  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. 

OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATION 

  • Some travel is required. 

  • Must be open and willing to work non-traditional work hours as well as on-call responsibilities. 

  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service. 

  • Must possess good verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
