Position Summary 

This position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the youth and families served. This position works closely with youth, family, foster parents, and community partners, providing advocacy and support toward the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community. Provides mentoring, case consultation and support to employees within assigned department or program. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Lead Clinician will perform duties including, but not limited to: 

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies. 

  • Provide mentoring, coordinate clinical services, train new clinicians, supervise clinical staff, and support to program staff on a daily basis.

  • Travel as needed, to provide and support the provision of services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.

  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.

  • Complete all required training in a timely manner. 

  • Facilitate Clinical Supervision of Transitional Foster Care Clinical Team. 

  • Manage caseloads and approve clinical documentation 

  • Provide direction and supervision to Case Manager that supports the safety, well-being, and eventual release of each UAC in NYAP’s care. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s degree in social work, or comparable behavioral science field, from an accredited institution. 

  • 5 years of direct clinical work experience, 2 years post graduate. Direct service with youth and families strongly preferred. 

  • 2 years of supervisory experience 

  • A valid advanced professional license as required and acceptable by state or contract regulations. 

  • Must demonstrate a sincere commitment to the service and advocacy for youth and families. 

  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency 

  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

  • Multi-task efficiently and be flexible in all situations. 

  • Openness to working non-traditional hours and traveling as needed. 

  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function. 

  • Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others. 

  • Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds. 

  • Possess a sincere desire and ability to advocate for youth facing behavioral health, educational, legal, development, and socio-economic challenges.
