EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As the Public Health Program Director, you will manage the activities of the Division of Vaccine Operations and Provider Services. This includes oversight of program operations, including the Vaccines For Children (VFC) Program, adolescent and adult immunizations, and perinatal and maternal immunizations. You will lead the work on the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grants for the bureau and oversee the development of initiatives. You will also lead staff in ongoing and new evaluation of program activities based on CDC guidance contained in the Immunization Program Operation Manual (IPOM). You will review current journals and publications to stay informed in order to achieve the goals and objectives for immunizations across the Commonwealth. In addition, you may be given an assignment to support the public health emergency response mission of the Department of Health. Emergency assignments could at times be received with little or no advance notice and may continue for any period of time – ranging from a few hours to several weeks, depending on the nature of the circumstance. The emergency assignments may at times be performed under adverse conditions and may require travel to another site other than your assigned headquarters for a period of time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
