The National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) is a 501(c)(6) specialized bar association of more than 2,500 attorneys and advocates who represent Social Security disability claimants throughout the adjudicative process. Since 1979, NOSSCR has been providing continuing legal education, conferences, and public policy advocacy on behalf of its members and the people with disabilities they represent. NOSSCR has recently moved to a new home office in downtown Washington, DC.
NOSSCR’s mission is to advocate for improvements in Social Security disability programs and to ensure that individuals with disabilities applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits have access to highly qualified representation and receive fair decisions.
The Communications Director will promote NOSSCR services and events, manage social media, organize consistent member communications, and provide public relations expertise. This person must have excellent writing skills and the ability learn the nuances of disability advocacy communication.
