What You Will Do:

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring campus safety. The Security Guard will protect campus property and maintain the safety and security of students, staff and visitors.

• Patrol and inspect campus building to maintain security.
• Enforce University rules and regulations, upholding State and local laws, and protecting property.
• Provide critical security support during regular and extended hours.
• Ensure visitors and vendors are properly signed in prior to accessing the building
• Responsible for greeting the public and fielding basic facilities questions, act as liaison to information desk personnel.
• Monitor security cameras that are within the facility.
• Conduct general patrols of the entire property during various hours, if required, including numerous flights of stairs and frequent patrols of the exterior in any weather conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-3 years of prior satisfactory employment as a security officer or directly related experience.
• Professionalism: Consistently responds in a professional manner to incidents including property emergencies.
• Detail Orientation : Maintain clear, accurate logs pertaining to people or property. This will include documentation of situations that you come across while you are on duty (student concerns or potential violations of university policies). Logs should be highly detailed and accurately document emergencies encountered during a shift.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to all parties encountered while on duty, including assisting with directions when needed and general business information.
