Nathan’s Outdoor Services is currently accepting applications for our Mowing Crew Lead position. The primary purpose of this position is to mow, trim, blow, and maintain the grounds and landscapes of our customers. And to lead a crew of roughly 2-5 people. We are looking for applicants with 2 years of professional lawn care/landscape maintenance experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Includes but not limited to;

• Lead a crew of roughly 2-5 people
• Work with other managers effectively
• Efficiently perform daily outdoor tasks such as mowing, weed whipping, backpack-blowing, trimming bushes/shrubs, weeding, spraying or spreading chemicals, etc.
• Use different machines including stand-on and push mowers, weed whips, backpack blowers, backpack sprayers, push behind spreaders, hedge trimmers, pruners, mowers, skids, etc.
• Ability to drive for work throughout the metro.
• A willingness to plow or shovel snow during the winter months.
• Communicate effectively with customers, crews, and office staff
• Help your crew or other crews complete daily tasks.

Our mowing crews usually consist of 2-5 person crews, that are responsible for their own route. Normal days are 10 hours, usual hours for leads are 6:30am-4/5pm M-F. Leads come in early to setup for the day, operations start at 7am. Applicant must be willing to work late/Saturday's if the crew falls behind. We are an all-season service company, snow plowing/shoveling work in the winter.

This Lawn Care Crew Lead position comes with a competitive wage of $22-$26/hour with overtime pay, the potential for bonuses, and annual raises. Initial compensation varies based on skill, experience, and technical knowledge. Pay increases with experience and winter work.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years of lawn care/landscaping/landscape maintenance experience
• Possess time management skills leading 2 to 5 crew members
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and independent leadership skills
• Must be dependable and on time
• Willingness to teach crew members basic landscape skills and techniques, and work well with others.
• Has a valid drivers license and is able to receive a DOT card (paid for by us)
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to work outside and be active on foot throughout the whole day
• Ability to lift 50 Pounds often throughout the day
• Pass a criminal background check
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including rain, snow, sun/heat and cold
• Ability to remain positive and professional, even during hot and long hours
