NASIC (National Air and Space Intelligence Center) is Hiring a Data Visualization Specialist, GG-0132-13 Near Dayton, OH

National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) is the national source for air, space, and cyberspace intelligence. By working with us, you’ll help discover and characterize the capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities of our nation’s enemies. As a NASIC employee, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts, working together to solve technical challenges. This position is within the Analytic Advancement Flight, GSIO.

The GEOINT Analysis Squadron is the Department of Defense’s community partner for the processing, exploitation, and dissemination of Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI), to include spectral, radar, thermal, electro-optical and certain data collected by the USAF and national technical sensors. GSIO delivers geospatially-based intelligence and capabilities through the innovative management of system architecture, advanced data analytics, imagery science, tradecraft development, and photogrammetry.

You must be a US citizen to be eligible for a position at NASIC, and you must be able/willing to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • – Serve as a data visualization specialist while performing complex technical analysis to help answer key intelligence questions. Use advanced math and coding experience to pull valuable information from data while using statistical analysis to exploit large amounts of data.
  • – Use data manipulation techniques, imagery tools, and problem-centric mission management to develop new approaches, methods, tools, automation, and procedures to improve capabilities and solve problems in technical intelligence.
  • – Manage projects from inception to implementation. Collaborate with communities of experts, and lead team members to drive enterprise achievement.
  • – Share your expertise. Guide other civilian, military, and contractor counterparts in developing and providing comprehensive second and third phase imagery analysis to the intelligence community.
  • – Work as an analytical advisor to the Flight Director and Principal Intelligence Analyst on a broad range of issues related to space, air, ground, mission related research and development (R&D) projects, and mission requirements.
  • – Develop, recommend, and report on the execution of teams’ mission responsibilities and requirements, including needs for software or analytic tools required for analysis and production.

Qualifications

  • (or higher) degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.
  • with Adobe Illustrator, Blender, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python and/or other softwares and languages relevant to Data Visualization.
  • creating visualizations to represent analytic results derived from Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) or remote sensing that covers exploitation of Thermal, spectral, LiDAR, and SAR phenomenology is desired.
  • experience and a thorough understanding of the intelligence production process, collection strategies, processing methodologies, and data interpretation and analysis is desired.
  • with project management and/or team leadership.

Conditions of Employment

U.S. Citizenship Required

All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.

Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
