Description Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Nurse Manager for the Hematology/Oncology Department as a full-time manager.$10,000.00 Sign-On Bonus. The Nurse Manager (RN) is a professional nurse who provides leadership for oncology patient care across the continuum. He/she is primarily responsible for providing continual clinical and administrative direction for the Outpatient Infusion and Hematology/ Oncology Service. The Nurse Manager(RN) is also responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of policies and procedure as well as the evaluation of the delivery of care. Nurse ManagerResponsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of standards and state nursing practice acts and of clinic procedures
Assess the effectiveness of staff performance and completes performance evaluations in a timely manner
Plans and provides orientation programs for new employees and ongoing in-service programs to ensure competency
Documents and communicates disciplinary actions as needed.
Adjusts and maintains appropriate staffing to meet the patient care requirements.
Actively participates in problem resolution and other performance improvement activities such as PI Teams or Taskforces for process revisions
Regularly monitors/evaluates patient care through direct observation, patient/family interviews and documentation compared to standards.
Effectively interacts with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
Ensure documentation forms used in the department meet regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates knowledge and safely performs assessment of patient served.
Demonstrates knowledge and safely monitors, intervenes and documents as required.
Understands that customers are patients, family, visitors, co-workers, staffing in other departments, physicians, students, and all other persons with whom one interacts whether in person, via phone, or in writing/email. Treats all customers with dignity, respect and courtesy at ALL times.
Demonstrates respect through behavior, words and dress. Proactively assists customers as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or Master's of Science in Nursing Required
Employee must have valid BLS upon hire. CPI required within 90 days of hire.
