  • POSITION TITLE: Systems Administrator - Systems Support
    REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
    SUPERVISES: N/A
    COORDINATES WITH: All Staff
    WORK YEAR: 12 months

    The Systems Support Systems Administrator is responsible to work as part of a team to support all of our information technology systems.

    Principal Duties:
    1. Responsible to plan, coordinate, and support complex application processes, systems, and user requirements with need for limited or no supervision. Responsible for the support of information technology systems and our administrative application systems, which includes our Student Information System, Aspen, and all our related applications including Teacher Ease, Google Admin, BlackBoard, and i4see. Utilize vendor support when required, involving the Director if any expense of funds are required.
    2. Responsible for development, support, and documentation of local applications and interfaces when required to complement/improve functionality or to create new functionality to support end user needs and requirements. Responsible for delivering solutions and training for end users.
    3. Responsible for administrative support of Office 365 Suite to solve a wide variety of user's needs.
    4. Respond to end users requests through automated helpdesk system, email requests, or personal requests.
    5. Serve as an ongoing resource for teachers and administrative staff to help them understand and most effectively use our application systems to solve their problems. This would be done sometimes through the development and delivery of workshops and ad-hoc one on one interaction. Research and implement tools and solutions to assist to improve our applications solutions and their management.

    6. Work with the Director of Technology to define the long term and short term applications needs of the District. Assist the Director in recommendations for software purchase and vendor support agreements for these systems. Assist the Director around the evaluation of proposed projects to make improvement within the District.
    7. Serve as backup to the Network Administrator to apply software updates and patches for our server and desktop environment.
    8. Serve as backup to the Network Administrator for the management and integrity of all of our databases.
    9. Responsibility for administration and support of the District website and related school websites. This includes ensuring sites are functional and creating and implementing a strategy for users to be able to update their own content.
    10. Responsible for prioritizing work as needed for most effective use of time, responding to end user requests based on urgency. Responsible for project based work, assigned by the Director. Responsible for developing project plans and time estimates on project related work.
    11. Adhere and make recommendations to be in compliance with the Nashua School District's Data Governance Policy

    12. In conjunction with Network Administrator, assist with Asst. Systems Administrator's on complex technical issues.
    13. Other duties as required, assigned by the Director.
    Minimum Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other analytical science degree. 3-5 years or more experience in applications and systems support. Knowledge of client/server operating systems and use in WAN/LAN network environments. Knowledge of administrative and instructional applications, including Microsoft Office. Must have abilities to plan, coordinate, and support complex business processes, systems, and user requirements. Must demonstrate extensive creativity and expertise in IT disciplines. Must have abilities to evaluate capacities of existing technologies and make recommendations for additional capacity and technologies. Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Linux-based Operating Systems is required.

    Specific knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Google Suite apps required. Knowledge of IP Telephony is desirable. Requires excellent customer communication skills. Ability to work with staff. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates capabilities in planning, organization, human relations, and oral and written communications.
