Nashua Center of Nashua, NH is looking to hire full-time 1st shift (M-F 8:30-3:30) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to support individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders to lead self-directed and meaningful lives. This Direct Support Professional (DSP) position earns $15.00 - $18. The upper end of this pay scale are for applicants who are experienced and are able to work one on one with medically fragile/ behavioral individuals. Duties may include a combination of working inside the home, Day program and the community.

ABOUT NASHUA CENTER
Founded in 1973 to offer services for a group of children whose severity of disabilities prevented them from participating in any existing public or private educational programs, we now provide specialized care and support to over 500 individuals each year throughout Southern New Hampshire. We help children from birth to age 3 and adults with disabilities or acquired brain disorders. Our services include providing or connecting them with safe places to live, meaningful activities, social interaction, relationship-building, and skill development for increased independence. We also work to educate employers, organizations, and the community at large about similarities and differences in people.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you support an individual with developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders to achieve their goals, explore their interests, and live meaningful lives as independently as possible. You provide this support in a Day program setting. Your support is needed in many areas of daily living including medication administration, bathing, hygiene, errands, meal preparation, eating, transportation (wheelchair van), housekeeping, recreation, and leisure activities. You also help them celebrate achievements and provide comfort during difficult times.
