Student Activity Coordinator - SWP

We are searching for an experienced Student Activity Coordinator - SWP at our Arapahoe Campus facility.

Position Title: Student Activity Coordinator
# of Positions to Fill: 2
Department/Program: Summer Writing Program 12080
Remote Work Authorization: 100% On-Site
Campus Location: Arapahoe Campus
Reports to: Summer Writing Program Faculty Director
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
FTE: 25% (10 hrs/week)
Compensation: $15.00 an hour

Job Summary
Student Activity Coordinators represent students during the Summer Writing Program and help develop events that are of interest to the entire community. This is a temporary position for 3 weeks (includes 1 paid training to be completed by June 11) from June 11-July 1, 2023.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and run all student readings (1 per week).
  • Coordinate lectures (up to two per summer), panels (one per week) and special events.
  • Listen to the voices of the student body and set up events that meet student interest.
  • Introduce student readings, MFA lecturers, and some readings.


What Naropa Requires…

  • Student may be enrolled for Undergraduate or Graduate degree.
  • Must have experience organizing or hosting at least one major event.
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in the Jack Kerouac School.
  • Demonstrated community engagement.
  • Timely and organized.

What We’d Like You to Have…

  • Experience in event planning.
  • Dynamic public speaker.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions: During regular daily activities, employee must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: lift up to 30 pounds, stand, walk, sit, run, handle/finger, bend at the waist, reach above shoulder level, kneel, crouch, interruptions/distractions, and heat/cold.
