We are searching for an experienced Portfolio Editor - SWP at our Arapahoe Campus facility.

Position Title: Portfolio Editor
# of Positions to Fill: 2
Department/Program: Summer Writing Program 12080
Remote Work Authorization: 100% On-Site
Campus Location: Arapahoe Campus
Reports to: Summer Writing Program Coordinator
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
FTE: 20% (8 hrs/week)
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Job Summary
The SWP portfolio editor sets guidelines for submission, editing, layout and all aspects of production and distribution of the annual Summer Writing Program Portfolio in the Bombay Gin Literary Journal. This is a 4-week temporary position from June 11 -July 7 2023.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate with SWP participants and guest faculty.
  • Solicit and collect material from SWP participants and guest faculty.
  • Select and edit a Portfolio of work that represents the themes of the Summer Writing Program.
  • Coordinate with the Editor-in-Chief of the Bombay Gin.
  • Layout and design SWP Portfolio for the Bombay Gin.
  • Write a brief introduction to the SWP Portfolio for the Bombay Gin.


What Naropa Requires…

  • May be a student working toward Undergraduate or Graduate degree.
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in the Jack Kerouac School.
  • Strong eye for editing and design.
  • Highly organized.
  • Excellent time management skills.

What We’d Like You to Have…

  • Familiarity with Submittable
  • Experience with InDesign or Quark.
  • Ability to maintain a production schedule or timeline
  • Working knowledge of production and publishing is preferred

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions: During regular daily activities, employee must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, sit, run, handle/finger, bend at the waist, reach above shoulder level, kneel, crouch, interruptions/distractions, and heat/cold.
