Narcoossee Oaks Animal Hospital is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician who love providing top notch veterinary medicine, just like us!
Our hospital thrives on having a tech-doctor ratio of 4:1. It just means our efficiency relies on having our team members supported with enough staff members, including YOU! Looking for the perfect work-life balance? Currently our team is on a rotating Saturday schedule, working only ONE Saturday a month for just tech appointments. Seeking a part-time position? We’re flexible too. Our hospital is currently AAHA-accredited and we strive to provide the best veterinary medicine for each patient that walks through our doors. We have top of the line equipment such as K-Laser, Digital Radiography, Fast Scan Ultrasonography, Surgical Laser, and much more.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting doctors during exams; explaining recommendations and cost with clients
- Obtaining and analyzing blood, fecal, and urine samples
- Drawing up and administering injections and vaccines
- Taking X-rays
- Taking and documenting patient TPR
- Restraining patients during procedures using proper techniques
- IV catheter placement
- Surgical assisting
- Lifting up to 40 lbs
- Sanitizing exam areas between patients
Our ideal candidate has the following qualities:
- Vet med knowledge: Candidates must be well versed in common exam room topics such as vaccination recommendations, flea and heartworm prevention options and importance of preventive care
- Compassion: Must be kind and caring when dealing with animals and their owners
- Interpersonal skills: Must interact and provide good client service to owners during vet visits and maintain a positive relationship with other team members
- Physical stamina: Needs to be able to be on their feet for long hours at a time or may need to crawl, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs. to work with the animals
- Trustworthiness: Must demonstrate that they can be trusted to follow directions of clients and doctors accurately
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and to document care notes in medical records with attention to detail
- Team-oriented personality and willingness to help teammates
Veterinary experience is required. Wage commensurate with experience and skills.
