This is a part-time position and is not eligible for insurance benefits. This position will be eligible and enrolled in IMRF - Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Marketing & Communication Coordinator The ideal candidate will know how to tell the NEF stories, build the NEF brand across multiple platforms, and manage multiple short- and long-term projects on deadline with great attention to detail. Will report to the NEF Executive Director and work closely with the entire NEF team and select Board members to develop and execute on our marketing strategy. This role is focused on two key objectives: 1. Tell NEF stories, build the NEF brand and engage audiences in the community
Create and execute an integrated marketing plan in support of NEF programs, promotions and events across communication channels
Social media, website, local media, e-newsletter, TALK203, community calendars, in school video monitors, and blogs
Create, update and deliver relevant and engaging content across multiple communication channels to expand visibility in the community
Photos, news and content updates on NEF website
Engaging e-newsletter content to targeted audiences
Press Releases
Discover trending topics, community needs, and interests of target audiences
Partner with schools, D203 staff, Home & School, HURRAH volunteers
Coordinate school visits, promote NEF programs and enhance our brand awareness in the community
Collect stories of NEF impact and observe NEF funds in action
Work with NEF Development Coordinator to update and build constituent segmentation
Strategically manage and measure social media presence and website metrics
Represent NEF at school/community/alumni/ and NEF special events
2. Work effectively and collaboratively with NEF team to manage annual projects and events
Collaborate with NEF team, Board of Trustees, and outside vendors to produce marketing materials; supporting the marketing and communications of all NEF grants, programs, special events, campaigns, scholarships, and alumni relations
Manage creation of annual report, brochures, flyers, invitations, event scripts in close collaboration with NEF team
Develop and execute marketing plan for our annual fundraising events, in close collaboration with NEF Team
Skills:
Demonstrated computer and software skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress content management, and social media; Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator and InDesign proficiency is a plus
1-2 years’ communication/marketing experience or other relevant experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills
Ability to take initiative and seek out innovative ideas
