Dependable, Experienced Nanny/Household Assistant Needed Urgently in Mercer Island

• Location: The Mercer Island area of Seattle, WA
• Ideal Start Date: April/May 2024, ASAP
• Schedule: Monday-Friday from 6:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Children: 6 month-old girl, and a 3 year-old boy
• Compensation: $35/hr depending on experience and qualifications, with guaranteed hours, paid time off, accrued paid sick leave, travel stipend, mileage reimbursement for driving done on the job in the nanny’s vehicle, and overtime opportunities when mom travels.

The Family: This easy-going family of four is looking for an experienced nanny to join their team! They are new to the Seattle area and are staying on Mercer Island for a few months while house hunting in the Bellevue/Mercer Island areas. The family loves spending time out in nature and are screen-free with their kids.

They have a sweet, fun 3 year-old, a 6 month-old who loves to eat, and two adorable Pomeranian dogs. As parents, they strongly align with Montessori and Positive Reinforcement methodologies. A nanny who is familiar and capable with these approaches would be a great fit!

Dad works from home in an office space separate from the main living areas, and mom works in-office and also travels for work. They are on bicoastal timezones for work, with dad on EST and mom on PST. It is extremely important to them that their nanny is dependable and consistently punctual.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing and loving environment for their children. Job duties will include:

Childcare:

• Facilitating naps and ensuring that all basic needs are met, including diaper changes, hygiene care, etc.
• Making breakfast and lunch for the kids, cleaning up after
• Engaging in age appropriate developmental and educational activities
• Possibly transporting to and from activities/lessons
• Getting outdoors with the kids daily
• Tidying any spaces used throughout the day

Household Assisting:

• Light household cleaning
• Family laundry
• Meal prep, such as chopping vegetables
• Grocery shopping help/errands as needed
• Feeding the dogs/letting them out for potty breaks

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny is a mature, dependable, proactive, and well-seasoned nanny who is experienced with infants and toddlers- and more specifically with caring for both ages at the same time. Having a Montessori background and/or knowledge is excellent!

Their ideal nanny is non-smoking, Covid cautious, and up to date on their Covid vaccination with the most recent booster (required). Additionally, they must have a valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation. They should also have a current Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update asap).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
