Job Summary:

Akima’s Marketing & Communications team is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic graphic designer to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for the design and production of executive presentations and graphics for both print and digital, including but not limited to social media graphics, flyers, billboards, banners, event signage, video graphics, and more.

Position reports to the team’s Design Lead.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develops and prepares creative assets including development, re-sizing, and file export

• Manages brand templates including authoring new templates, editing, and archiving assets, creating design templates, and ensuring client access

• Designs and prepares electronic files for print, using prepress industry standards for file setup

• Aligns design with input and creates marketing and communications assets using best practices in; gathers and implements feedback; incorporates edits

• Modifies and manipulates illustrations and photography for creative assets and presentations

• Using data, produces editable graphs and other visuals for presentations

• Designs and produces digital graphics for inclusion in video productions

• Occasionally operate copiers/printers and finish materials; may include cutting flyers, binding presentations, folding brochures, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have strong creative skills, backed by a portfolio of work demonstrating a passion for design and typography. The ideal candidate will have experience working in numerous types of design, be driven by new perspectives, and be able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• Two years of relevant design experience in an agency or marketing environment

• Bachelor’s degree in design or related field

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)

• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

• Must be highly organized and able to multitask

• Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

• Must demonstrate a willingness to take and apply feedback to improve

• Must have a keen eye for detail

• Must be able to quickly adopt and apply the company’s brand standards

• Demonstrate a strong eye for effective typography, iconography, color, and balanced page layouts

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience creating 2D motion graphics

• Experience designing for Performance platforms

• Background creating illustrations for B2B content

• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Lightroom is a plus
