Job Duties

  • Develops, implements, and manages Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, procedures.
  • Provides required classroom and individual training on EH&S programs and current topics.
  • Monitors site compliance with training requirements and reports to site leadership as needed.
  • Drives compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc., (and analogous state/local) regulations and licensing, including all required data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Performs and documents job hazard assessments (JHAs)
  • Leads site safety committee, and seeks alignment of safety-related matters with other NAMSA locations.
  • Manages and directs waste disposal activities pursuant to Federal, State or local EPA regulations.
  • Coordinates the occupational health program in alignment with industrial hygiene/OSHA standards.
  • Maintains OSHA 300 injury logs and ensures compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
  • Supports site HR representatives regarding Workers Compensation claims to ensure appropriate return to work and the prompt settlement of claims.
  • Conducts and documents safety and environmental program reviews/audits, and makes recommendations as necessary.
  • Conducts and documents accident investigations with site safety representatives/management to provide identification of root cause and corrective action.
  • Works jointly and collaboratively with Operations to improve operational efficiencies and reduce Environmental, Health and Safety related costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in awareness of workplace risks, application of safe workplace practices, and occurrence of workplace injuries.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree required in environmental, health and safety or a related discipline.
  • Recommended profession certifications: CSP, COSS, CHMM
  • 7-10 years of related experience required.
  • Experience as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English and local language, if different, required.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA regulations, DOT regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory regulations.

Requires maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to climb ladders to inspect roof tops.
  • Ability to become OSHA respirator certified.
  • Extensive use of computer keyboard.
  • Travel in support of other locations on an infrequent basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
