NAMI OC WarmLine Program Director

The Program Director directs programmatic operations. This position oversees program functions including marketing, reviewing, and reporting, and ensures compliance with contractual program standards as well as organizational policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

  • Oversee and coordinate program operations

    • Oversee the development, design, and implementation of the program.
    • Create and maintain progress reports.
    • Supervise, administer, monitor, and evaluate established intervention
procedures for the program and develop new approaches for intervention as needed.
  • Provide direction for all case closure decisions.
  • Follow reporting procedures established for NAMI Orange County and promote safety through ongoing training and consultation.
  • Liaise with community partners; develop and maintain community collaborations.
  • Assume supervisory responsibility for the program.

    • Promote a culture of professionalism through role modeling professional boundaries, and respect.
    • Aid in the screening and hiring of direct program staff and assume responsibility for training the staff. Provide and document regular supervision.
    • Oversee and consult with coordinators and trainers.
    • Monitor performance of assigned personnel and review performance with
individuals as per departmental guidelines; develop and monitor career path trajectories with particular emphasis on educational and experiential
requirements necessary to assume the next level of program responsibility.
  • Coordinate referral process and ensure program capacity is maintained at appropriate levels; work with referral sources and consumer groups to
ensure appropriate referrals are made to the program.
  • Solicit feedback from consumers of the program activities including agency personnel and family members; develop and install effective data collection systems, provide appropriate data, supervise data gathering by others and analyze data from a variety of sources.
  • Establish systems to predict and prevent potential problems and develop intervention strategies.
  • Oversee the compliance responsibility for the contract.

    • Implement and ensure compliance with all contractual, regulatory, program, and accrediting body standards.

    • Manage program occupancy, staff turnover, and other program variables that have a financial impact.
    • Review individual staff data to ensure that program guidelines are being followed and use the data to improve efficiencies and outcomes.
    • Monitor program budget to maintain revenues and expenses within budgetary guidelines.
    • Provide necessary documents and maintain certifications and licensures as required.
    • Manage and monitor staff changes that may affect job status or program compliance.
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out the NAMI Orange County mission.

    • Direct all activities towards the fulfillment of the NAMI Orange County mission.
    • Establish and maintain an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
    • Maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance
    • Support other members of the team and their work

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to lead a team of associates and to supervise programs, be knowledgeable of, and comply with, statutes and policies which affect target population.
  • Solid understanding of the philosophy and function of programs. Knowledge of the
functions and services of the community organizations and related human services.
  • Demonstrate decision making skills and competencies to work in crisis situations and the temperament to work with individuals and families experiencing crisis.
  • Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the
ability to work effectively with participants, staff and support agencies.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a human services related field.
