Description
The Warehouse I position will become a subject matter expert in all material handling areas of the Warehouse. This position will ensure accurate shipping documentation is prepared and shipments are properly packaged for transport. They will readily help in all areas of the Warehouse and help support the Warehouse staff as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1. Obtain a solid understanding of all material handling processes in the Warehouse.
2. Read and understand job ticket, manifests and production schedule.
3. Maintain good security habits with dock doors and entrance doors.
4. Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
5. Ensure maintenance on lift trucks and batteries are completed.
6. Ensure lift truck safety inspections are completed at the beginning of the shift.
7. Obtain a certified forklift license.(internal requirement)
8. Assist in training the Warehouse employees the processes and procedures of the department.
9. Must have complete knowledge of receiving, storage, retrieval, and shipping processes.
10. Access information in computer system.
11. Communicate with next shift about status of job(s) and any special instructions.
12. Maintain a clean and organized area/department.
13. Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with leaders, coworkers, team members and customers.
14. Ensure all safety policies are followed and hold a high regard for the safety of others.
15. Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.
16. Aggressively seek out opportunities for company and self-improvement.
17. Responsible for informing leader of any concerns that arise.
18. Set a good example for safety, attitude, attendance, quality and productivity.
19. Participate and support continuous improvement activities.
20. Complete other tasks as requested by Management.

Requirements
Skills and/or Knowledge include the following:

1. Self motivated.
2. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
3. Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
4. Excellent math skills.
5. Computer experience preferred.
6. Detail oriented.
7. Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis.

Education and/or experience

1. 1. Lift Truck skills preferred.
   2. High school or better.
   3. Warehousing experience preferred.
