This is a great opportunity for an energetic individual to join our team as the Medical Record Specialist. The Medical Record Specialist is responsible for collecting patient information, requests, and release of medical records. Collaborate with the clinic team to ensure all medical records and documentation are accurate. The role will work with the Enrollment Team to retrieve medical records from prospective participants.
Expectations for this Role
    • Secure all signed medical record consent forms and store in appropriate location (electronic or paper files)
    • Manage incoming fax and email and mail for medical records being returned by providers and do so on timely basis
    • Manage urgent medical record requests with IDT team; handle legal requests for medical records in partnership with compliance department.
    • Retrieve and release medical records to the appropriate providers.
    • Ensure accuracy of all medical records release and received.
    • Initiates the medical record request for participant chart by creating a new chart in EMR.
    • Ensure all documentation in EMR is accurate and in compliance with DHCS and CMS regulations.
    • Keep PACE clinic informed by communicating the availability of requested records.
    • Develop medical record process to collect medical records in a timely manner and upload medical records in EMR.
    • Request medical records from third party vendors and ensure all requests are complying of DHCS and CMS regulations.
    • Support with internal/external scheduling.
    • Collaborate closely with Risk Adjustment & Enrollment Team.
    • Other duties as assigned.
Attributes of an Ideal Candidates
    • High School Diploma or GED is required
    • Experience working in front office for healthcare facilities
    • Experience with standard office procedures including filing, record keeping, use of standard office equipment, supplies and computer software
    • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
    • Experience working with Frail Elderly
    • Relevant training and/or certifications as Medical Records Specialist
    • Advanced understanding of medical terminology and administration process.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
    • Bilingual: English/Spanish, English/Cantonese, English/Mandarin, English/Vietnamese preferred
    • Proof of a valid CA driver's license, personal transportation, good driving record and auto insurance as required by State law.
    • Proof of current CPR/BLS certification required or requirement to obtain one within 30 days of being hired preferred.
Location
    • Los Angeles, California
    • This role is expected to be onsite 5 days/week
$23.41 - $30.48 an hour
myPlace Health offers a robust compensation package for this role that includes cash compensation and other total rewards. Base pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, relevant work and industry experience, certifications, and location of the role. Onsite roles include appropriate geographic adjustments, while remote roles are typically priced off national pay data.
This role is eligible for the following:
