Myndfit Mental Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Living Support Specialist (Contract) to join our growing team. You'll play a vital role in supporting children with extreme emotional disturbances by helping them develop independence and thrive in their communities.

A Community Living Support (CLS) is a professional who aids individuals with various needs, allowing them to live independently within their communities.

Key functions:

  • Needs Assessment: Collaborate with clients to understand their challenges and goals.
  • Personalized Support Plans: Develop plans to help clients with daily living skills like cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
  • Community Resources: Connect clients to resources like transportation, social services, and recreational activities.
  • Independence and Quality of Life: The overall objective is to empower clients to live as independently as possible and improve their overall well-being.

CLSs can work with a variety of clients, but this specific role focuses on supporting children with emotional disturbances, Intellectual or Development Disabilities (IDD), and their respective families in their respective communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with children to develop personalized support plans.
  • Assist with daily living skills like meal preparation and personal care.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a closely related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children experiencing emotional disturbances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with children.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage your own caseload and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.

Travel:

  • Texas-Wide Impact: This position offers the opportunity to travel across Texas, supporting children in their own communities.
