Myles Truck Repair is Hiring a Heavy Duty Diesel Service Writer Near Fayetteville, GA
The Service Writer / Shop Advisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all customer's trucks and equipment.
The duties related to this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Myles Truck Repair service advisors revolve around the needs of the customers. Their duties can include tracking repairs and their causes, scheduling technicians and processing warranties. Customer profile information is usually stored in a computer system, which the service writer is responsible for maintaining.
- Additional duties of a service writer involve developing cost estimates. When a customer requests a repair, the service writer logs what parts are needed, how much time should be allocated to make the repair and schedules the appropriate technician for the job based on the customer and their repair needs. This information is conveyed to both the customer and the employer of the service writer in a timely fashion.
- Manages and coordinates repairs with the technicians and oversees service advisors of the shop.
- Supervises the sales team to ensure all repairs are transparent with the customers and to ensure a good customer experience when visiting our business.
- Monitor all shop duties and needs of the building.
- Maintaining and controlling shop parts and inventory.
- Responsible for leading and assigning tasks to shop mechanics to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize company costs, as well as, asset downtime.
Requirements:
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years of diesel shop / service writing with a strong knowledge base of heavy highway equipment.
- Must have problem-solving skills and good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.
- Every other Saturday 8am to 12pm.
