The Marketing team at MyFitnessPal collaborates with all business units to help drive our business forward and help our users achieve their goals. The Social Media Manager is responsible for everything from creating, developing and posting engaging content to reporting and analyzing results. Success in this job will depend on a mix of creating strong content and engaging our superfans with the goal of building brand awareness and brand love.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Create an editorial strategy, content calendar - and content - that caters to targeted audiences and ladders up to overall marketing and business goals
    • Proactively handle content creation - a mix of do-it-yourself scrappy posts, as well as managing agency, partner and expert created content
    • Drive social listening on a daily basis to looks for trends, issues and real-time engagement possibilities - and create reactive content in response
    • Help identify product advocates and engage evangelists for user-generated content
  • Bring the social media strategy to life and adjust as needed throughout the year
    • Stay up-to-date with new social media tools and best practices
    • Continually educate internal teams and key stakeholders on social media best practices
    • Make strategic recommendations based on trend observations and discussions within the community
  • Manage engagement and communication across all social channels, including Tik Tok, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter
    • Nurture a passionate community of superfans across all channels, including engagement with influencers through social listening and proactive outreach
    • Ongoing monitoring of all brand social channels and relevant online conversations looking for conversations and communities to tap into 
    • Work closely with the Customer Happiness team to ensure all MyFitnessPal members are supported
  • Analyze results of brand campaign and evergreen content to look for opportunities to improve creative and engagement
    • Monitor our share of voice among competitors and sentiment to inform content strategy 
    • Provide weekly reporting by channel with both quantitative and qualitative insights with recommendations for continuous improvement and pivoting
    • Manage the appropriate analytic tools to optimize social media performance
  • Management of a social media associate, interns, and contractors to help create content, plan and schedule calendar, and create reporting

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Be on the forefront of trends, tools and techniques - both in health & wellness and social media
  • Love creating content with a scrappy mindset - you think it, you make it, you post it
  • 6 years of experience building strategy, content creation and analyzing performance of core social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest)
  • A demonstrated track record of growing engaged audiences on organic social channels
  • A knack for evaluating social media analytics and adapting strategies and tactics based on insights
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills - as well as some ability to create visuals, videos, etc
  • Ability to build programs from primary research
  • Able to work individually or in a team environment
  • Online marketing and/or copywriting experience a plus
  • Possesses outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Management experience a plus

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $103,200 - $130,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, MyFitnessPal offers a wide range of comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, parental planning, mental health benefits, annual performance bonus, a 401(k) plan and match, responsible time off, monthly wellness and technology allowances, and others.
