Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. As a Registered Nurse - Oncology, you will provide specialized care and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and other medications as prescribed
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their physical and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families about cancer treatments, side effects, and self-care strategies
- Assist in managing symptoms such as pain, nausea, and fatigue
- Perform phlebotomy procedures for laboratory testing
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients
Skills:
- RN License in the State of Washington
-Proficient in phlebotomy procedures for laboratory testing
- Knowledge of esthetic laser treatment for skin conditions related to cancer treatment
- Experience in acute pain management for cancer patients
- Familiarity with workers compensation laws related to occupational illnesses, including cancer
- Understanding of dermal fillers used in reconstructive procedures for cancer patients
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities who are undergoing cancer treatment
- Knowledge of occupational health practices specific to oncology nursing
- Proficiency in using ICD-10 codes for accurate diagnosis coding
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care to oncology patients
