Emergency Department Technician:#This 0.3/Per-diem position is scheduled to work 2 12-HR evening shifts per week. Compensation: Non-exempt, $21.70/HR-$31.24/HR Benefits: Mason Health provides these benefits for per-diem employees: Mental Health # Wellness resources Employee Assistance Program Paid#Sick Leave # Job Summary: Serves as an integral member of the emergency department team; efficiently performs activities such as effectively monitoring and managing the flow of patients, greeting, and rooming patients, documenting patient histories, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with examinations and procedures. Works in close partnership with and under the direction of a physician/provider. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam. Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients. Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure. Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing. Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions. Respond to all lab messages and call back requests. Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations. Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure. Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures. Maintain complete and accurate documentation. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. ################################################################################################################################################################# Organizational Responsibilities In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, all employees are expected to support the Mason Health mission, vision and values; comply with District policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times. Employees are expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited EMT program. One year of experience working in a physician#s office, preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations State of Washington EMT Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 180 of employment. Additional requirements for EMT Urgent Care position WA State DOH IV endorsement
