The Thrift Store Manager is responsible for the supervising the daily operations of Muskegon Rescue Mission Thrift Stores. This includes, but is not limited to, accurate handling of sales, maintaining a friendly and pleasant atmosphere for customers, keeping stores stocked and various cleaning duties.

Responsible For:

• Sharing your faith in Jesus Christ and praying with customers, volunteers and co-workers as opportunities arise.

• All store operations at assigned location.

• Overseeing the pricing, stocking and inventory of donated items.

• Tracking inventory levels of and preparing orders for new products and submitting monthly inventory.

• Allocating daily/monthly assignments for cashier/production staff and managing timesheets for weekly submission.

• Working with the Director of Stores on monthly schedule for Store Operations Staff.

• Overseeing the gift certificate program at assigned store. • Maintaining store security, including opening and closing of store.

• Supervising the cleaning of all areas of the store, including exterior as well.

• Securing of all monies and making store deposits to the bank.

• Supervising cashiers and receiving and assisting with customer issues.

• Performing daily, weekly and monthly reports as needed.

• Participate in donation truck scheduling as calls come into the store.

• Performing staff evaluations.

• Training and orientation of new team members and volunteers.

• Provide training opportunities for Assistant Manager and others interested in leadership roles in the stores.

• Addressing staff discipline, correction and counseling with the Director of Store Operations.

• Implementing and overseeing staff meetings and provide a positive work environment for the staff and volunteers.

• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Retail, cashier and customer service experience.

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in personal computer use.

• Must be organized and able to perform a variety of diverse tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $33,000.00 per year
