Position Summary
As part of the Marketing team, this role plays an integral part in activities that promote, enhance and protect Museum of the Bible’s global brand reputation. The Social Media Manager will support social media, external communications and selected PR efforts on site in Washington, DC. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, familiarity with the history, stories and impact of the Bible. This individual will manage all museum social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter with a combined audience of 1.4 million. He or she is familiar with the history, narrative, and impact of Bible. Major responsibilities include content curation, performance analysis, and strategy creation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Co-develop social media strategy with Communications Director and CMO and execute strategy with innovative content and creative plan, including campaigns, promotions tailored to a range of target audiences Create a memorable social brand for the museum and act as one of the museum’s key brand ambassadors. Work closely with Digital Marketing Manager to drive brand awareness Contribute to main KPI of museum attendance though audience engagement (shares/comments > follows/likes) Manage all aspects of social media strategy including content creation, copywriting, editing, scheduling, campaign planning, and daily monitoring (respond to comments, messages, etc.) Provide comprehensive social media reporting (e.g., Sprout Social, Cision, etc.) to Marketing department and museum leadership. Coordinate promotion of exhibits, special visits, museum events, etc. on social media in alignment with the museum’s communication and marketing strategy. Collaborate with editorial team and museum curators to ensure accuracy of artifact and historical information in social media posts. Manage museum influencer strategy including research, outreach, and visit coordination. Fulfill all other duties as assigned (e.g. project management, PR/media support, etc.)
Education
Knowledge Bachelor’s degree (preferred minimum) in one or a combination of the following areas: communications, marketing, business administration or journalism Equivalent experience: Other than a bachelor’s degree, relevant work experience or training may be acceptable and assessed individually. Creative: You are expressive in the creation of content, design choices and messaging to build and maintain a relevant and consistent social media expression of MOTB‘s brand. Collaborative: We care about culture, so you thrive on relationships, love to work with other stakeholders and volunteers from ideation to execution to be an integral part of the organization. Innovative: You constantly experiment, are not afraid to fail, but always find new ways to tell stories and connect with audiences. Strategic: You see the big picture, collecting and connecting information and tracking KPIs to provide cohesive and impactful direction.
Skills

As needed, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.

Physical demands/requirements are as follows:
Sit for up to 8 hours a day.
Squat bending at the knees.
