TITLE:NYC - Retail Stock Associate

SCHEDULE:Monday 9am-2pm, Tuesday 1pm-10pm, Thursday 1-10pm,
and Saturday 2-11pm.
PAY RATE:$17.00 per hour
FLSA STATUS:Non-exempt
Role Summary
The Retail Team operates the museum’s award-winning retail store, which carries “best-of” products per category, and is known as a trusted destination for all things sexual wellness and sexual fun. As the Museum of Sex grows and expands, the retail component is a key piece of that expansion. The Stock ASSOCIATE plays a critical role in supporting the Business Goals of Retail by promoting a positive customer experience through filling the floor and ensuring product is presentable and correctly priced. Teamwork is a staple throughout our entire operation. The Stock Associate works closely with other Stock leaders and the Retail team to create an unforgettable experience for all museum visitors. We believe in fostering our staff’s abilities to learn and grow on the job.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Stock Associate is an important role which influences the daily operations of the Museum and contributes to the success of the business by ensuring the correct product is received and the items are displayed according to guidelines and are presentable and visually appealing.
Receive, inspect, and count stock for damages or imperfections.
Label items with identification tags and price tags
Ability to use POS system (retail pro and reports) to keep track of inventory, plan for deliveries, stay up to date on margins, costs, and price updates
Responsible for Stock procedures which includes but is not limited to receiving orders, tagging product, filling the floor, contacting vendors, and sending daily recap emails
Highly observant and conducts replenishment needs for the retail sales floor
Be knowledgeable of product offering and placement on the floor
Maintains saleable stock and merchandise; Ensures cleanliness, freshness and where needed rotated stock to ensure first in, first out rules apply.
Must maintain appearance and functionality of assigned areas: product hut, store merchandise, collateral materials, stock rooms, and related spaces
Be knowledgeable about the museum, its history, programs, and special events and effectively communicate this information to guests
Facilitate internal communication, as needed, with critical support departments: Operations, HR, Administration, etc
Keep key team members aware of stock availability, order arrivals, and any product discrepancies including cost changes and damages.
Assist in floor moves and merchandising
Able to move from place to place which may include lifting packages up to 30lbs
Perform additional duties as required

Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and the POS system
You have a background in stock, organization, and merchandising
You have excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with people of all kinds.

You have the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
Pertinent backgrounds include: Theater and other forms of Entertainment, Events, Hospitality, Customer Service, and Nightlife
Multilingual is a plus!

Must be a true self-starter and able to execute assignments independently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, talk, listen, and use hands to operate museum exhibits. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is an indoor, climate-controlled public area of assembly. The noise level varies throughout the venue, some areas are very quiet while others contain reasonably high noise levels. There is ample lighting throughout the venue. There are no hazards and no protective devices worn or used in the office work environment.
