LOCATION:TBDREPORTS TO:Executive Director, Program for Exceptional Students

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Works in cooperation with and under the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist in completing university program requirements including conducting cognitive, behavioral, and academic assessments for students and assisting teachers and parents in understanding the educational needs of referred students.

This posting is for a one year internship for the 2024-2025 school year.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Educational Level:

Bachelor's Degree in School Psychology.

Must be enrolled in an accredited Master's degree or higher school psychologist program.

Must be enrolled in an internship with a University Program Advisor.

2. Certification/License: None
3. Experience: Demonstrated successful course completion in cognitive, behavioral, and academic testing and related skills.
4. Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication, planning, organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES UNDER DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST:

  1. Works with School Psychologists at multiple schools.
  2. Conducts individual evaluations in cognitive, behavioral, and academic areas as well as other areas that may be assigned.
  3. Works collaboratively to provide comprehensive written reports of observations, assessment results, and recommendations within the standards.
  4. Confers with appropriate school personnel and/or parents about the evaluation results and recommendations.
  5. Maintains confidentiality at all times and demonstrates a commitment to promoting equity and diversity.
  6. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  7. Completes all university program paperwork requirements to successfully complete internship experience.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
