POSITION: ZONING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
LOCATION: MUNICIPALITY OF NORRISTOWN
HOURLY WAGE: $ 24.5048 - BASE PER HOUR
HOURS: PER CONTRACT - MONDAY TO FRIDAY
EMPLOYMENT: FULL-TIME - AFSCME

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent required; two years administrative experience in public or private sector related to building, zoning and land development; or any equivalent combination of education and experience; successful background check.
GENERAL DEFINITION: This position involves enforcing Municipal zoning ordinance regarding set backs, height, area, parking, uses, signs and other regulations; conducts assessments for signs and amusement machines; sidewalk dining applications. Reviews and approves zoning applications for minor developments including signs, fences, decks, patios, sheds and other structures. Performs inspections of property within Norristown in response to complaints, zoning permits and violations of the Municipal zoning ordinance. Maintain records, present evidence and testifies in court regarding zoning violations. Considerable communication and interaction with the general public. Landlords, renters, real estate agents, homeowners, other government entities and private businesses. Performs other related duties as required.
