Service Technician- Hydro Testing

Job Description Summary

As a Hydro Service Technician, you will specialize in inspecting, testing, and maintaining 3M/Scott Safety SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) equipment used by firefighters and emergency responders. This role will conduct thorough inspections, identify any issues or defects, and ensure the integrity and safety of 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment through hydrostatic testing. This full time opportunity is based out of our Poughkeepsie, NY location.

Role Responsibilities

  • Inspect 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment visually to identify wear, damage, or degradation signs.
  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment
  • Ensure that equipment follows safety and regulatory standards.
  • Perform hydrostatic testing on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment to ensure it can withstand the required pressure levels without failure.
  • Conduct flow tests to verify that the 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment delivers consistent airflow.
  • Adjust or repair components to ensure proper flow rates.
  • Monitor and assess pressure test results to confirm the integrity and safety of the 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment.
  • Repair or replace damaged or worn components.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during testing
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers by addressing their concerns or questions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hydrostatic testing or related field
  • Familiarity with 3M/Scott Safety SCBA equipment is a plus, but we will train!
  • Industrial mechanic experience
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Industrial maintenance background
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Electrical experience
  • Experience with hydraulics
  • Technical sales skills
  • HVAC and HVAC/R knowledge
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments
  • Understanding of high voltage systems
  • Field service experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Industrial electrical experience
  • Familiarity with low voltage systems
  • Military background is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for long periods
