Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our school team. The BCBA will play a critical role in designing and implementing behavior intervention plans, conducting functional behavior assessments, and providing training and support to school staff, students, and families. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), experience working with children from Pre K 3 to 5th grade with diverse behavioral needs, and a passion for promoting positive behavioral outcomes in an educational setting. The BCBA will primarily work in a school setting, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and support staff. The position may involve occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate meetings or training sessions.
Reports: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) reports to the Director of Students Services
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
  • Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the results of FBAs and in collaboration with school staff, students, and families.
  • Provide direct supervision and training to behavior technicians, paraprofessionals, and other school staff involved in implementing behavior intervention plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans through ongoing data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide consultation and support to school teams on best practices in behavior management and intervention strategies.
  • Conduct staff training sessions and workshops on topics related to behavior management, positive reinforcement techniques, and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies, including parents, therapists, and community organizations, to coordinate services and support for students with behavioral needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of behavior assessment results, intervention plans, progress reports, and related data.
  • Stay current on research and best practices in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and special education, and integrate this knowledge into practice.

  • Attend and participate in weekly Special Education & Inclusion team meetings
  • Support school safety by assisting with student arrival and dismissal procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Values

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a BCBA in a school or educational setting strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
  • Experience conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, families, and outside agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing special education services, including IDEA.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equity in education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree with a license in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing school-wide positive behavior support programs.
  • Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Experience using technology-based behavior management tools and software.

  • Schedule: 8 hour day, Monday-Friday
  • Location: Across Network
  • Position Type: This is a 10-month salaried position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
