Muddy Creek Pediatrics is Hiring a Pediatric Nurse Near Mason, OH

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates clinical competence and sound knowledge base in provision of quality patient care including but not limited to providing medical advice, assessing clinical needs and outcomes based on standards of nursing care, provide direct care such as injections, vaccinations, laboratory testing at moderately complex level, and/or other duties as may be assigned by the MCP Provider and/or Management Team.
  • Coordinate patient care through telephone triage and patient care management plans, scheduling appointments; providing professional nursing advice for patients using established protocols; effectively communicating with providers, staff, and families regarding medical issues; and completing all required medical record and care plan management documentation.
  • Participate in clinical department training programs for new and existing staff.
  • Attend Clinical Staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Prepare for and attend daily huddle meetings with the providers.
  • Provide support through problem solving within the clinical setting and coordination of care with the Clinical team including but not limited to review of patient care records for huddle, verbal, written, and electronic methods of communication with the Clinical Team.
  • Educates patient / family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
  • Process and track referrals to outside specialists or service providers.
  • Review and track all diagnostic test orders to ensure patient compliance with recommended treatment plans.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement by serving on committee, attending quality improvement meetings, and/or assisting in implementing quality improvement action plans.
  • Provide support and back up to medical assistant and providers in the clinic to ensure quality and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Manage inventory of vaccines and medical supplies in a cost effecting and efficient manner as requested by the Clinical Manager.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and patient privacy in accordance with MCP policies and procedures.
  • Participate and abide by all standards, policies and procedures as they may relate to the safety of patients, visitors, and/or employees of MCP.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of accredited school or college of nursing.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year or more pediatric office experience preferred.
  • Licensure Required: Current valid nursing license to practice in the State of Ohio. CPR certification.

Skills:

  • Skill in applying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  • Skill in preparing / maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence using an electronic medical record and/or electronic software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical / Mental Demands:

  • Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Must be able to exert up to 30 lbs of force occasionally, and to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires occasionally working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, writing instruments, personal computer, laptops and/or tablets, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, temporal scan thermometer, SureTemp thermometer, pulse oximeter, ear washing equipment, scales, blood pressure cuff, glucometer, Clinitek urine analyzer, hgb unit, etc.

Shift Hours

  • Monday: 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. or 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Wed - Fri: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. (rotating)
