MUBEA is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Florence, KY

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Selects products for testing at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Must have knowledge of proper use of standard measurement tools and metric system. (micrometers, calipers, etc)
  • Must be able perform programming and operate spring testers, hardness testers, and fatigue testing equipment.
  • Performs part layouts reports according to internal and drawing specifications.
  • Perform in-process audits and transfer materials as necessary in material planning system.
  • Work with operators on print interpretations and use of gauging.
  • Assist in training of operators to specific processing work instructions.
  • Ability to thrive in multiple fast-paced, high stress manufacturing environments.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, blueprints, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Qualifications
  • 2- year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have experience in industrial manufacturing quality principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software, and MS Office platforms, (Excel, Word, Email, etc.) 
  • Experience or Training in ISO/TS:16949:2009, Lockout & Tagout, and Basic Plant Safety Machine Operations.
  • Must have visual inspection experience.
  • Able to run controlled experiments under direction of engineering/manufacturing.
