Location: Columbia, MO
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Salary Range: $59,322 - $96,762
 ABOUT THE JOB:
MU Health Care is searching for an ideal candidate to fulfill the role of a Patient Experience Coach. The primary responsibility of this role is to observe and mentor medical professionals and support staff, aiding in the enhancement of their empathy and social skills. By focusing on refining communication, listening abilities, and demonstrating compassion, the aim is to establish stronger connections between healthcare providers and patients, as well as their families. Additionally, the candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating Patient and Family Advisory Committees (PFACs), ensuring that these groups are conducive to driving meaningful and positive changes in the healthcare experience.
The selected individual will take the lead in the rounding initiative, involving the training, supervision, and motivation of nurse leaders to conduct regular rounds, fostering patient relationships on their respective units. A vital aspect of this role is to advocate and spearhead the adoption of the Clinician Experience Project, a program designed to enhance provider well-being while concurrently promoting stronger connections with patients. The candidate will also have the opportunity to address incoming physicians and nurses during orientation sessions, effectively conveying the institution's patient experience philosophy, as well as framing its overarching mission and purpose. Alongside these core responsibilities, there might be unit or department-specific tasks to be undertaken, as defined by relevant departmental documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
  • Three (3) years of experience in health care.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Experience in an academic hospital or health system.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a
day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
