Job Description

Position Summary

MTI, Inc. seeks an experienced Operations leader with 10 years prior experience leading an Operations team in a manufacturing or production environment. The Director of Operations will be a member of the executive team and report to the COO, playing a key role in leading people and process and fostering the company’s growth.

The Director of Operations will lead process improvement using LEAN Methodologies and will foster innovation in the Operations team and collaboratively with other MTI departments. This operations leader will have responsibility for production, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, safety, logistics, supply chain, purchasing, warehouse, shipping and receiving. Extensive background in ERP system implementations and understanding is critical.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • 10 years of experience in operations leadership.
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing and production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer use and systems navigation.
  • LEAN, Six Sigma green belt certification (CSSGB).
  • Project lead experience in ERP implementation.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Operations leadership with a medical device manufacturer.
  • Use of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 ERP system.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) certification.

Essential Functions

  • Create long-term strategy for process Improvement and production execution.
  • Execute company budget business plans, programs, and long-term operational objectives including change management.
  • Lead the company’s production, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, safety, logistics, supply chain, purchasing, warehouse, shipping and receiving functions.
  • Lead continuous process improvement and demonstrated cost savings initiatives using LEAN tools and practices.

  • Strategic planning, resource allocation, workforce modeling, leadership, workflow and production efficiency.
  • Application of math skills and statistical analysis.
  • Quality standards and measurement.
  • Industry regulatory requirements.
  • Use of computers and systems—specifically Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Process and Change Management expertise.

  • Critical thinking in identifying strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Judgment, decision-making, and deductive reasoning.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
