Auxiliary Operator
Job Functions
Essential Functions
· Investigate equipment problems and take the proper actions to correct problems.
· Assist the Plant Operator as necessary.
· Completion of Daily Safety Inspection log and other plant reports. Responsible for the safe operation of all machinery and related equipment In the Fuel Processing Plant as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
· Perform all cleanup and housekeeping functions inside and around the fuel system buildings.
· Responsible for the proper operation and minor maintenance of conveyor systems and fuel crushing and sizing equipment that can directly affect employee safety and the operation of the system.
· Monitor the operation and material condition of all fuel sizing and conveying equipment from the field, communicate conditions to your supervisor.
· Complete all MSHA training as required by law.
· Perform preventive maintenance such as Greasing and Oil Changes or additions.
· Must be capable of operating a Skid steer.
Other Functions
· Must work rotational shiftwork, normally 12 hours shift per day.
· Holiday, weekend, overtime, and night shift work is required.
· Required to have a telephone, must respond to call ins as needed.
· Assist in other work on an as-needed-basis as directed by supervisors or management.
· Acts as a team member with all employees of Mt Carmel Cogen staff displaying a professional and courteous behavior.
Essential Physical Abilities
· Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
· Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
· Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment, accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges (must have eyesight corrected to 20/40), and communicate clearly on portable radios.
· Ability to respond to plant emergencies.
· Ability to perform demanding work at heights under adverse conditions and when participating in emergency activities.
· Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and enter confined spaces as required to complete assigned tasks.
· Ability to work around and with hazardous chemicals, taking all required precautions to ensure evolutions are completed safely and without injury.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight.
· Ability to pass a respirator physical and fit test.
· Valid driver’s license required.
Education / Experience
High School Diploma and 2 years of work related experience.
Working Environment
· This job involves a working environment of 70% indoors and 30% outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
