Mr. Nice Guy is Hiring a Lead Budtender Near Astoria, OR

Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Lead Budtender to join our team. As a Lead, you will assist the Management team with the activities and operations of the store, while abiding by policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Our Budtenders are responsible for helping customers, checking them out, cash handling and customer service. The position is also responsible for performing sales and service functions for targeted promotional items.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet and establish rapport with guests -- get to know them to seek to understand their interest in cannabis medicine/ merchandise items
  • Assist customers on different strains, products, and consumption methods
  • Provide recommendations based on customer preferences and needs
  • Lead by example by exceeding personal sales volume and KPI goals and support Sales Associates to do the same
  • Development of high customer experience standards, to include a “Guest Centric” culture and industry leading customer engagement through sales training and product knowledge.
  • Execute a world class hospitality program to drive repeat business through strong local grass roots networking, customer data capture and execution of our loyalty program.
  • Assist store leaders with executing business initiatives in an effective and efficient manner
  • Report out to Assistant Manager to identify training and development needs and support of Sales Associates.
  • Provide leadership, training, guidance and support to team members that fosters continuous learning and improvement in performance of the stores
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the collective by restocking merchandise on the sales floor and participating in basic store clean-up.
  • Perform clerical tasks including accurate filing, compiling, and maintaining inventory and records.
  • Assists guests and arranges payment terms, with recognized POS systems in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Verifying proper paperwork, documentation and ID for customer
  • Other duties as assigned by the Management Team

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree, or equivalent experience in related field
  • Sales and guest service experience
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of cannabis strains (Indica's, Sativa's, Hybrid's), products (Edibles, Extracts and related items), consumption methods, and current products on the market.
  • Previous dispensary-related experience - a plus
  • Proficient in using technology for sales transactions and inventory management
  • Must be able to provide exemplary guest service, and represent the brand with pride
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be willing to take OLCC test for Cannabis Handlers Card
  • Must be willing to work weekends, days, night shifts

Supervisory Responsibility:

This person is directly responsible for leading the Sales Associate (Budtenders) team.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional retail store setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time or part-time position. Work hours are anytime between Monday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED diploma and two to three years of related experience and/or

training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
