Who are you?
You are an experienced software engineer who loves to make an impact! Your managers typically give you the hardest problems to solve because they know you will do it better and faster than other engineers. You are not afraid to ask questions and always make sure you understand a problem before you design a solution.
The other developers on your team benefit from your ability to take a complex problem and break it down into manageable steps, design effective solutions, and reason about business logic. You communicate well with cross-functional team members so there is always a high level of trust between you.
What will you do?
As a staff developer, you will be expected to gain a deep understanding of our development tools, business logic, and client integrations. You will write and help other developers understand the technical requirements of tasks as well as implement more complex new features and integrations. Our staff developers lead by example to help the team level up in terms of code quality, performance, and maintainability.
Our mature product boasts thousands of API endpoints and asynchronous processes that execute against a relational database with hundreds of tables. The ability to quickly understand existing code and reason about business logic is a must have!

What skills and experience do we expect you to have?
10 years of professional JVM development
10 years working with SQL databases
Familiarity with SOAP and REST APIs, especially 3rd party integrations
Ability to analyze business problems and understand customers
Excellent communication skills
Experience mentoring less-experienced developers
Familiarity with agile software development processes

At Movemedical, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The salary range is expected to be $145,000-$165,000 for this position and will vary based on your qualifications and job-related experience level.
