Mountain View Nursing, LP is Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing Near Coal, PA

Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation center is looking for a Compassionate, Dedicated and Reliable RN to fill the role of Assistant Director of Nursing.

This position is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Enjoy paid time off, paid holidays, excellent medical, dental and vision insurance and 401k plus match. Eligible for a $7500 sign on bonus.

This position requires:

EDUCATION: Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.

CERTIFICATION: Current RN license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. Possession of a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required.

EXPERIENCE: Sufficient experience in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved. Must have a minimum of three (3) years general nursing experience, with at least one (1) years in long-term care and two (2) years’ experience in either supervision, administration, consultation or involvement in the long-term care survey process.

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in the planning, organizing and directing of the Nursing department in accordance with current Federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Assumes the responsibility of the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse or other nursing position in his/her absence.

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Makes rounds to assess quality of resident care and staff compliance.

Ensures all nursing units are staffed according to residents’ acuity and needs.

Attends and is active in necessary facility meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Assists in supervising employees in the Nursing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directs and monitors to determine adequate documentation is being done on a daily basis.

Assists in the investigation of complaints, grievances and allegations of abuse or neglect concerning nursing service and/or nursing personnel. Identifies trends and recommends corrective action to the Director of Nursing.

Promotes harmonious relationships and favorable attitudes among health care team.

Plans and cooperates with Administration on operations, budgets & special projects as requested.

Collaborates with Medical Director to assure quality care is given to all residents

Stays informed of Federal and state regulations and keep physicians and staff informed as to insure facility compliance.

Works in collaboration with Infection Control Nurse to ensure staff education, monitoring for & reporting infections, compliance with infection control policies and procedures & high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility to prevent and control the spread of infectious disease.

Assists in the development policies and procedures that are in compliance with current regulatory requirements and professional standards of practice to achieve quality care to residents. Ensures compliance with all rules regarding residents’ rights.

Carries out, coordinates, and manages administrative functions and areas or programs related to Nursing Services which may include departmental documentation or medical records; nursing supplies, ancillary supplies or services; facility Quality Assurance; care plans; MDSs; Infection Control Program; Restorative Care; Skin Care Program; Medicare; Special Restraint or Medication programs; light duty or safety program; staff scheduling, selection, training, orientation or related functions.

Maintains safety, fire, disaster, blood borne pathogens, tuberculosis exposure, pandemic plans, OSHA and other programs in cooperation with Administration and the Director of Nursing.

Conducts monthly staff meetings, Team Manager Nurse meetings and monthly nursing supervisors meetings as assigned by the Director or Nursing.

Keeps current in the field of nursing through attendance at meeting, conferences, conventions and workshops; reading current and pertinent literature pertaining to all aspects of patient care and restoration rehabilitation.

Establishes appropriate health and safety rules related to the work environment of the employees within the nursing department.

Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety.

Other duties as assigned.
