Special Education Credentialed Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities
1. To be responsible for the safety, total supervision and involvement with assigned MVCFS
School, Inc. students during the school day.
2. To develop and implement Individual Education Plans for up to 6 Learning Disabled (LD)
and/or Emotionally Disturbed (ED) students.
3. To develop a student progress report prior to initial IEP meeting. Content will include
current student test scores, main areas of student’s strengths and weaknesses, and a list of
potential goals and objectives.
4. To develop a classroom schedule indicating daily and weekly academic content areas.
5. To record academic and behavioral progress on a regular basis (behavior point chart; record
of student grades)
6. To complete at the conclusion of each quarter a current academic, behavioral, and vocational
assessment.
7. To participate in monthly teacher meetings directed by school administration
8. To maintain a daily attendance record and submit to principal at end of each reporting period.
9. To assist in directing the duties and responsibilities of the classroom aides
10. To assist in implementing an appropriate classroom behavior management system
11. To complete an end-of-year student report form and submit to principal prior to last day of
school.
12. To inform the supervisor on personnel issues concerning teacher aides
13. To work as a member of the house treatment team along with the house
administrator/supervisor and the therapist.
14. To perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Special Education Credentialed Teacher

Qualifications
1. Teacher must possess a current California Mild/Moderate Disabilities/Moderate/Severe
Disabilities, SL/LH or meet the criteria for applying for a Provisional Internship Permit as
outlined in the Education Code.
2. Minimum of two years’ experience with ED and/or LD students
3. Live Scan fingerprint clearance by DOJ and FBI.
4. Possess valid California Driver’s License, Class 3.
