Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary

The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, soliciting funds from corporate, foundation and government sources, and cultivating relationships with current and potential funders.

Qualifications

Education Required
  • Must complete in-house orientation program
  • B.A. or B.S. degree with concentrations in Healthcare Policy, Finance& Accounting, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing, and related fields required.
  • Master’s degree preferred
Experience And Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Speaks, reads and writes English
  • Advance knowledge of basic computer software products to include but not limited to Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, and Java.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant proposal writing, with a demonstrated and proven track record of securing funding from institutional sources, preferably in healthcare or a related field
  • Ability to research multiple local, State and Federal portals for funding opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines while being flexible for meetings.
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary, team environment.
  • Ability to interact directly with funders to solicit funding.
  • Experience with use of development database software; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
