Compensation
Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
The Pediatric Echo Technologist's primary responsibility is to perform basic and advanced echocardiograms (transthoracic and fetal) to obtain detailed anatomical, functional and hemodynamic data on all patients referred to the Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory in both out-patient and in-patient settings in a timely manner.
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in diagnostic ultrasound training from CAAHEP accredited program with emphasis in echocardiography is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills are required
- One year experience performing ultrasounds preferred
- The ability to relate testing knowledge and theory to ECHO procedures and equipment
- The ability to interpret results and isolate the most accurate readings is essential
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Registered/Registry eligible for the following certifications:
- FE Certification (Fetal Echocardiography) in fetal echocardiography issued by the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) within 2 years of hire is strongly recommended.
- PE Certification (Pediatric Echocardiography) in pediatric echocardiography issued by the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) upon hire.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
- Moderate level of Physical Activity Required
- Clinic or patient rooms
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Heavy lifting may be involved to move equipment
- May be required to travel to offsite/satellite locations
