Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital is Hiring a Cytotechnologist Near Oceanside, NY
The Cytotechnologist is responsible to perform the screening for pap and non-GYN tests as requested in physician orders. He/she will perform and triage accurate tests as prescribed by the physician in a timely manner so clinicians receive accurate result enabling them to provide the best possible care.
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Diploma from an Accredited Cytotechnology program required
- Bachelor's Degree Major consistent with NYS Department of Education Cytotechnologist requirements preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Technical skills related to the laboratory discipline.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- 2-5 years of experience in Cytology preferred
- 1 - 2 years of experience in performing fine needle aspiration adequacy assessment preferred
- ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) Certification
- Cytotechnologist License - NYS

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
- Standing for prolonged periods of time
- Exposure to Biohazardous materials
