Mount Pleasant Independent School District is Hiring a Culinary Arts Teacher Near MOUNT PLEASANT, TX

Assigned by CTE Director

Position includes teaching entry level courses into culinary as well as advanced/dual credit classes. We have an on-campus established restaurant running two days a week. The instructor will be directly in charge of this project.

This establishment is completely run by the students but all preparation, planning, and food inventory is the responsibility of the instructor.

Certifications held by applicant may include any one of following- family and consumer sciences, hospitality nutrition and food sciences, or an Associates degree and 2 years related work experience.

Education Required:Associate's Degree;Bachelor's Degree PreferredExperience Preferred:At least one year student teaching or approved internshipKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of culinary arts; General knowledge of curriculum and instruction; Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior; Ability to supervise field experiences; Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsMental/Physical Demands:Maintain emotional control under stress; Frequent district and regional travel, occasional statewide travel, prolonged and irregular hours; Regular lifting and carrying moderate weight, frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing
