Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties

Job Summary
Provides coordination and support to the Apprenticeship department and works with current and future partner apprenticeship training centers. Works to create and regularly update training curriculum with training centers and works with centers to identify and create curriculum to meet the requirements for general education outcomes to increase the completion rates. Develops graduation and recognition processes that mutually benefit MHCC and the centers. Assists with streamlining the registrations processes for apprenticeship programs and works to accurately identify and increase the diversity of the apprentices entering and completing the program.
Essential Duties

  • Works with current and potential apprenticeship training centers to review apprenticeship curriculums and ensure alignment with MHCC standards. Assesses apprenticeship program materials for learning outcomes to meet credit requirements, and guides training center personnel through the process. Meets with training center staff on site and provides continued support for apprenticeship program changes.
  • Collaborates with internal staff and external stakeholders to create a streamlined system and processes for admission and registration
  • Creates and executes reports for tracking apprenticeship program data such as enrollment and demographics. Recommends changes to improve data capture for programs and improve visibility into student progress and achievements.
  • Works with Instructional Services to maintain and build degree audits with embedded general education credits.
  • Creates materials to communicate program requirements to current and potential students.
  • Assists with outreach efforts for apprenticeship programs. Provides information and materials to community members interested in apprenticeship and support in navigating the apprenticeship process. Provides referral to training center resources as appropriate.
  • Work with internal and external partners to recognize degree earners at completion ceremonies.
  • Uses training center syllabi and communication with centers to create course outlines. Partners with centers to identify course outcomes and add them to the course catalog.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, technology, administration, business or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with registered apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship programs coordinating programs, assisting students, or working in a regulatory capacity.
  • Current driver's license, insurance and access to reliable automobile during work hours for transportation to off-campus sites. Must have at least three (3) years of driving history.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish

Working Conditions and Important Information

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a computer terminal. Visual eye strain and repetitive hand/wrist motion for data entry and keyboarding functions.
Hybrid work – remote and in person. Some weekends and evenings required (scheduled and infrequent)
Salary:
Initial salary placement will be based on years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College, per the guidelines in the applicable Handbook or Collective Bargaining Agreement. Please include all relevant full and part-time experience in your application that you want the College to review towards potential placement. Hired employees will not have an opportunity to update past experience or appeal initial placement after the time of hire.
