Education, Training or Certifications Required:

• Current Maine RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE.
• National certification encouraged.

Experience Required:

• Proficient in nursing process.
• Proficient in Medication administration.
• One year acute care experience
• Perinatal nursing experience preferred.
• Proficient Fetal Monitoring

Special Requirements:

• Proficient IV skills.
• Familiarity with computer applications
• Emotional maturity.
• Good people skills.
• Participates in perinatal education conferences.
• Proficient patient assessment skills.

Cognitive Requirements:

• Able to collect, sort, and prioritize data.
• Ability to process complex clinical information and respond appropriately.
• Ability to learn new techniques and incorporate them into nursing practice.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand/walk for 8-12 hour shifts.
• Adequate hearing, vision, speech, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift/carry 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to perform under stress.
• General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours.

• Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
