Description

Position Summary:

The Hotel Maintenance Technician maintains the hotel to include proper operation, maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. Develop, coordinate, and monitor rooms maintenance program to ensure the safety and comfort of all staff and guests.

These requirements/functions may change over the course of employment.

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of hotel and parking lot. 
• Inspect, clean, and maintain mechanical equipment. Use all equipment only as intended. 
• Communicate with housekeeping, front desk and management to resolve maintenance issues.
• Maintaining overall appearance of rooms; replacing broken mirrors, hanging fixtures, touch-up painting, etc.
• Maintaining rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed on heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems.
• Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment and guestrooms, including the training of hotel staff in proper procedures. 
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building.
• Cleaning and maintaining pools in a safe manner.
• Maintaining the condition of hotel lobbies and meeting spaces
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Give each guest personal attention, take personal responsibility for solving issues and use teamwork when providing guest service.
• Performing other duties as required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training
• Minimum 3 years of experience with facilities maintenance.
• Will need to test pool and spa area chemicals and adjust as needed within state guidelines. Also responsible for maintaining proper records of testing per state guidelines. CPO Certification is a plus, if not certified company will pay for your certification.

• Federal/local fire codes
• Local mechanical codes
• Water treatment programs
• Blueprints, plumbing, and writing schematics.
• Be friendly, polite, and professional.
